Supporting Older People in Surrey
In the UK, as people live longer and healthier lives, many people face a quiet struggle and loneliness as they get older. Often small events, a little help at home and a degree of social interaction can have a huge impact on wellbeing.
Humanity First has teamed up with local charity Staywell to offer a range of services for older people in the Surrey area. Staywell is an award winning charity that has been working in the area for many years both from their centres across Surrey, and also helping people at home. The purpose is to support people's independence and to help them stay well. The services are person-centric to make their journey as easy as possible, and to ensure that they make a difference to improve the quality of life.
Humanity First has teamed up with Staywell to provide local volunteers to offer a range of services at home, but HF will also be hosting dinners and arranging trips every month to help build social networks. Staywell will train volunteers and ensure that they are security cleared.
We are hosting a kick-off event on Thursday 24 November 2016 at 19:00 at Staywell's Rayleigh House at 14 Nelson Road, New Malden , Surrey KT3 5EA.
If you wish to be considered as a volunteer, kindly email us at firstname.lastname@example.org . We look forward to seeing you on the 24th November!
