Uganda Medical Training

Global Health

Medical teams from the UK did multiple visits to southern and eastern Uganda to train local doctors, nurses, midwives and police personnel in emergency processes and skills such as life support. In many parts of Uganda, there are very few ambulances, and therefore it is the police who are often on the scene of an RTA and doing the role that paramedics would play in Europe.

HF teams worked in a number of locations including Mbale, Budaka and Sironko, and trained over 1,800 local personnel ultimately serving a regional population of around 5.5 million people.
